HOW DID WE GET HERE

HOW DID 2 GUYS FROM THE STATES START MAKING CHOCOLATES IN SITGES SPAIN?

Well, I can tell you, it was never planned and the sweetest things in lif never are!

One day, many years ago, I came across my husband's family recipe for caramels,  being a home cook, I gave it a whirl and I was hooked.  This came as no surprise, I remember, as a young child, watching cooking shows instead of playing video games, if you can call Pong a video game.  Being from Boston, Julie Child was of course my favorite.  I had the pleasure of meeting her one afternoon in Cambridge at a restaurant where I worked.  She came in and ordered items to go and while she waited we chatted.  It is not often we get to meet the people that inspire us and I am grateful for every encounter.

So I dug through the recipe box and found a few other family candy recipes (English Toffee and Caramel Corn) and slowly expanded my candy making repertoire.  At first, I started making candies just around the holidays and giving them to family and friends as gifts.    All the while people where telling us we should go into business, but we never really gave it any thought.

Fast forward many years later and we are living in Los Angeles with our two mini dachshunds (Zess & Weni) and needing a life reboot, so we loaded up the barge and moved to Sitges, Spain, (sort of like the Beverly Hill Billies) basically we fast forwarding our 10-year plan into 3 months.

After getting set-up, there is a lot to do when moving to a different country, I started making candies and again folks were telling us we should be selling them, so with a little extra time on our hands and some great friends, here we are!

Welcome to Sweet Sitges
